Speed on Top Again at Ricard

American Scott Speed finished on top of the times in testing at Paul Ricard, where the GP2 driver went quickest for the second consecutive day

Speed outpaced France's Alex Premat by over two tenths of a second as the times improved over the first day, with Speed lapping nearly four tenths quicker than yesterday.

During the day, the first ever A1 GP rolling start took place, with 16 cars  jostling for position, simulating a real start.

The drivers were pleased with the progress made throughout the day.

"The car has been great today," said South Africa's test driver Stephen Simpson. "This kind of test session is invaluable; we are concentrating on doing our own thing and improving the set up of the car.

"The team is coming together nicely and I think it's going to be a strong partnership. The car is great to drive. Even round a circuit I don't know I have complete confidence in it, I'm loving being involved in A1 Grand Prix."

Team Germany used the second day of testing to officially announce their seat holder as Willi Weber, Michael and Ralf Schumacher's manager.
