RML signs deal with Saleen

RML has teamed up with US performance car giant Saleen for future engineering and design work

The two companies development cars for both street and race use.

RML is best known in Europe as the most successful BTCC team in the current era with a total of seven championship titles during its Vauxhall and Nissan campaigns.

Founder and president of Saleen Inc, Steve Saleen said: "The automotive world is rapidly evolving and Saleen is evolving to offer enthusiasts and racing teams the ultimate in performance, technology and value."

In addition to BTCC, RML also designed and built the Opel DTM 2000 concept car unveiled at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show.

The company also has proven success with the Astra F2 rally car, which it designed and built, taking three national titles last season.

Managing Director of RML, Ray Mallock, said: "Working with Saleen is a fantastic opportunity.

"To be able to work together on cars that are destined for road as well as track is a new challenge for us and will showcase our automotive engineering skills.

"RML has a proud heritage in sportscar racing and extensive experience in the development of high performance road cars."
