Renault reveal 2006 RDD line-up

The Renault F1 team have revealed the line-up for their 2006 Driver Development programme, which includes four young drivers

Jose Maria Lopez and Brazilian Luca di Grassi, who were already part of the programme, will be joined by Frenchman Romain Grosjean and Briton Ben Hanley.

Lopez, the programme's oldest member at 22, will compete in the GP2 series for the second year running. The Argentine, who last year raced with DAMS, will now compete with the Super Nova team.

Di Grassi, winner of the prestigious Macau Grand Prix in November, will join Lopez in GP2, racing for the Durango team.

Nineteen-year old Grosjean, the 2005 Formula Renault 2.0 champion, will compete in the F3 Euroseries championship for Signature.

Hanley, who finished second in the Italian Formula Renault 2.0 championship in 2005, will join the CRAM team in the World Series by Renault championship.

"This is a good opportunity for me, to join the RDD programme. I know it will be a valuable help in achieving my goal of becoming a professional driver," said Hanley. "I will give 100% to show I have what it takes to be a Renault driver.

"My first tests in the World Series car this winter, convinced me that I can adapt to the championship very quickly."

Renault's RDD was created in 2002 with the aim to support the most promising young drivers.
