Rahal BMW retains drivers for 2010

The Rahal Letterman Racing BMW team will take an unchanged driver line-up into its second season in the American Le Mans Series

Americans Bill Auberlen and Joey Hand, who scored the new GT2 BMW's first win at Elkhart Lake, will team up again in one car, with German Dirk Muller and American Tommy Milner sharing the second. The latter pair finished fourth in the GT2 standings last season, and took a class win in the Asian Le Mans event at Okayama.

Team boss Bobby Rahal believes that continuity in the driver line-up will help BMW take the fight to Corvette, Ferrari and Porsche in the GT class next year.

"Simultaneously developing a new race car and a new team is always particularly challenging to the drivers involved, but last year Bill, Joey, Tommy, and Dirk made things go much more smoothly than we had hoped," Rahal said.

"Continuity is a key component in building a championship race team, and we couldn't be happier to see that all four of these talented drivers will be returning with us for 2010."
