Power Set to Race at Surfers
World Series by Renault race winner Will Power is set to drive a third Team Australia Champ Car at his home event in Surfers Paradise next week
Autosport-Atlas understands that the deal will be announced in the coming days, and could lead to a race seat in the Walker Racing-run squad next season, in place of Marcus Marshall.
Power finished second in the opening feature race for A1 Grand Prix at Brands Hatch for his nation, but missed the second round of A1 Grand Prix at EuroSpeedway last weekend while sorting out the deal.
The 26 year-old has experience of the Surfers Paradise track, winning both Australian F3 support races to the 2002 Champ Car event. He also won one of the Formula Ford races at the street course in 2000.
Power has won two races in the World Series by Renault this season, at Le Mans and Bilbao. The Champ Car deal would mean he would miss the World Series season finale at Monza.
