Politicians applaud F3 EuroSeries initiative
As the DMSB and the FFSA prepare for the first official F3 EuroSeries test at the new Adria Raceway in Italy this week (February 20-21), the new series has been praised by German and French government ministers. "At the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the German-French friendship agreement, the two big motorsport nations are giving an example for sport events that reach beyond national borders," said Germany's Minister of the Interior, Otto Schily
The F3 Euro Series is the result of the amalgamation of the German and French national championships, and will start its inaugural season at the Hockenheimring on April 26-27.
Schily continued: "Motorsport, which fascinates many millions of people in the two countries, could be an example for further joint championships. Motorsport has always been surrounded by an international flair and its supporters have always been unified beyond borders and other limits. Germany and France have brought important motorsport personalities to the fore, people who are respected and admired not just in these countries."
The French Minister of Sports, Jean-François Lamour, said that he expected the new series "to be a top-class championship in which our talented young drivers can develop."
