NASCAR returns to Ohio after 50 years
The 25-race 2004 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will include the new 'Ohio 250' at the independent Mansfield Motorsports Speedway - the first NASCAR-sanctioned event to be held in the US state since 1953. "We're extremely proud that NASCAR has selected our facility for this historic event," said the venue's owner, Mike Dzurilla. The series will partner with the Nextel Cup on 12 race weekends next season
The 2004 Craftsman Truck schedule also includes a new fixture at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The Darlington Raceway event will move from March to Friday, November 12, and will be the first race to be run under floodights. Eleven standalone events, including seven on short tracks, complete the schedule.
