MSA fills UK circuit racing 'ladder structure'

The British ASN, the Motor Sports Association, has filled most of the slots on its new 'ladder structure' for UK circuit racing. Each series promoter has been awarded a three-year contract by the MSA to be included in the three-tier system

In the Single-Seater division, the Formula Renault championship will fill the Level 2 one-make slot, feeding into the British F3 Championship. The Level 3 slots will be filled by the Open Formula Ford championship and the already announced one-make Zip Formula.

The Porsche Carrera Cup will fill the Level 2 one-make slot in the Sportscar division, beneath the British GT Championship. The Caterham series will take the Level 3 one-make slot.

In the Saloons category, the SEAT Cupra Cup will fill the Level 2 one-make series slot, with the Renault Clio Cup filling the Level 3 slot. The MSA's own British Touring Car Championship has already been announced as the Level 1 series.

"We're pleased with the quality of the championships that have been successful," said the MSA's CEO, Colin Hilton.
