Lap 225: Montoya wins, scoring Toyota's first CART victory. Andretti second, Carpentier third, Brack fourth, Moreno, Franchitti, Papis, Fernandez, Fittipaldi, Kanaan, Gugelmin, De Ferran, Vasser, da Matta, Tracy are the top 15.

Lap 223: Montoya has the lapped Gugelmin between him and Andretti.

Lap 221: Just 2.6 seconds covers the first two.

Lap 220: Andretti closes to three seconds of Montoya

Lap 218: De Ferran pits for a splash and dash with just seven laps left. Is Montoya OK for fuel

Lap 216: Montoya leads from Andretti, de Ferran closing on second place, Carpentier

Lap 215: Fernandez dropping back in ninth place

Lap 206: Montoya now 5.4 seconds clear of Andretti and pulling away quickly.

Lap 204: Brack pushing Moreno hard, with Franchitti and Papis closing.

Lap 196: Montoya has already pulled out 3.6 seconds on Andretti, De Ferran, Carpentier, Brack, Moreno and Franchitti.

Lap 193: Franchitti gets by Fernandez when the Mexican runs wide.

Lap 190: With Fernandez pitting, Franchitti gets his lap back and joins the back of the queue as the race goes green.

Lap 185: Montoya gets the extra point for most laps led. The race is still under yellow.

Lap 183: Fernandez and Moreno pit.

Lap 182: Fernandez leads from Montoya, Andretti, Brack, Moreno, De Ferran, Carpentier and Franchitti, who went a lap down just before the yellow

Lap 181: Marques crashes, yellow. Fernandez needs fuel and pits. Marques is OK

Lap 180: Vasser pits.

Lap 170: Montoya pits, leaving Fernandez in the lead. Montoya rejoins in third place with Jimmy Vasser second.

Lap 126: The first five are covered by six seconds, Franchitti is a furether five behin the lead group. The Scot is complaining of a loose handling car.

Lap 125: All the out-of-pit-sync drivers have stopped a second time> Montoya leads from Andretti, Carpentier, De Ferran, Tracy, Franchitti, Papis, Fittipaldi, and Gugelmin.

Lap 111: Brack pits from the lead, and stalls in the pits.

Lap 109: Fire for Tagliani in the Players pit, one mechanic is injured, although he is now back on his feet. Tagliani is out of the race.

Lap 107: Moreno pits from the lead, Brack leads

Lap 104: Castroneves pits from third, but loses time leaving the pits.

Lap 100 of 225: Moreno leads from Vasser, Castroneves, Brack, Fernandez, Blundell, da Matta, Jourdain, Tagliani, Montoya

Lap 90: Montoya now running in 11th

Lap 85: Moreno leads from Vasser and Castroneves,all having pitted earlier.

Lap 82: Montoya pits from the lead.

Lap 81: Carpentier pits.

Lap 79: Andretti and Franchitti pit.

Lap 78: De Ferran first into the pits -- loses time with a slow getaway.

Lap 75: Pit stops expected for the leaders soon.

Lap 68: Carpentier closing on Montoya, De Ferran in third closing on both fast.

Lap 66: De Ferran takes third.

Lap 65: Juan Montoya leads from Carpentier, Franchitti, De Ferran, Andretti, Tracy, Fittipaldi, Papis, Gugelmin.

Lap 60: De Ferran closes on Franchitti.

Lap 50 of 225: Juan Montoya leads from Carpentier, Franchitti, De Ferran, Andretti and Tracy.

Lap 33: Most of the second half of the field head for the pits for a tactical first stop.

Lap 31: Yellow as Shinji Nakano spins on the pit straight.

Lap 1: Montoya leads, Franchiiti hold second but is under pressure from Carpentier.
