MIA forum will focus UK motorsport funding
Britain's Motorsport Industry Association has arranged an open forum on October 2 at its HQ at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, to gather responses to the UK government's £16m funding strategy for developing the motorsport and high-performance engineering industry over the next five years.
Those attending the forum will be encouraged to pose questions to Chris Aylett (the CEO of the MIA), Alan Gow (the chairman of the Motorsport Strategy Development Group) and George Lendrum (the commercial director of Pi Research who also acts as an MIA committee member). All three served on the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) Motorsport Competitiveness Panel and helped to create the report that forms the basis for new investment initiative.
Aylett commented: "The Secretary of State for Trade & Industry, Patricia Hewitt, made it clear when the strategy was announced that motorsport organisations must be given a chance to respond to these proposals. MIA members and non-members alike have an important stake in ensuring the government's commitment is invested in appropriate ways. We need to hear their views."
