Lister to make GT return

Lister announced that it will be returning to the FIA GT championship in 2005 at the Autosport International show on Thursday. The Laurence Pearce-run team will campaign two cars for youngsters Justin Keen and Liz Halliday

Lister to make GT return

Lister competed successfully in GT racing for several years, winning the drivers' and constructors' championships in 2000, before dropping from the radar as it concentrated on development of its prototype car.

Speaking about the 2005 design, Pearce said, "We've got carbon brakes this year, a smaller rear wing. We're quite a lot wider than the regulations [lay down] but the Maseratis are also a bit wider and the FIA have accepted the car. The car has always been good and if we put a good driver line-up together, which I think I've done here, then we can get results."

Of his new signing, 25-year-old American Halliday, Pearce said: "Liz has been very good in testing - very professional and very quick. I don't see her as a second driver at all, I see her right up there."
