Leitzinger to race RSR Jaguar
Butch Leitzinger will return to the American Le Mans Series for the Petit Le Mans, driving the RSR team's second Jaguar in the GT class
Long-time Dyson driver Leitzinger has not raced in the ALMS since the Alex Job team had to scale back its GTC programme earlier this year. Leitzinger had switched to the GTC class this season after losing his Dyson prototype seat when the team had to slim down to a single car.
He will share the second Jaguar with team boss Paul Gentilozzi and Trans-Am champion Tomy Drissi at Road Atlanta next month.
"I have a great respect for Butch on both his experience and character," said Gentilozzi. "We won together in 1994 [in the Daytona 24 Hours], and I was there to share in his first Trans-Am victory celebration when I finished second to him at Mid-Ohio in 2002.
"It will be great to get back to racing with him and he will bring additional value to this programme."
Team regulars Marc Goossens and Ryan Dalziel will drive the other Jaguar.
