Leimer takes Formula Master pole
Fabio Leimer took a step closer the International Formula Master title by claiming pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix support event at Spa
The Jenzer Motorsport driver, who could clinch the title this weekend with two events to spare, took his pole tally to four in six attempts with a lap of 2m12.885s, pipping ISR's Alex Rossi - who survived an off during the session - to top spot by just six-hundredths of a second.
F3 Euro Series racewinner Alex Sims took advantage of a better-balanced car to bounce back from Friday's free practice session being ruined by car problems to take third on the grid ahead of Simon Trummer, who converted his free practice form into a career-best fourth.
Patrick Reiterer and Sergey Afanasiev will share the third row, while Josef Kral, Leimer's nearest challenger in the championship, could manage only seventh on the grid ahead of Erik Janis.
Vladimiar Arabadzhiev took ninth ahead of IFM returnee Frankie Provenzano, with Pal Varhaug, who still has an outside chance of the title, only 12th for Jenzer Motorsport.
