Lap-by-lap from Vancouver

Due to technical problems, Autosport.com was unable to bring you its usual lap-by-lap coverage of the Molson Indy Vancouver until now

Here's how Team KOOL Green left the rest trailing in their wake...

1- Nakano into pits before start and receiving attention from the Walker crew

1- Start aborted because field has not formed up correctly.

1- Start takes place, Franchitti holds lead from Tracy, de Ferran. Castroneves holds off Montoya for 4th in turn 6 as the Columbian tries on the outside line

1- Player's cars nearly collide but stay apart in turn 9

2- Order: 1 Franchitti, 2 Tracy, 3 de Ferran, 4 Castroneves, 5 Montoya, 6 da Matta, 7 Fittipaldi, 8 Andretti, 9 Papis, 10 Vasser, 11 Moreno, 12 Servia, 13 Gugelmin, 14 Kanaan, 15 Fernandez, 16 Jourdain Jr, 17 Brack, 18 Carpentier, 19 Tagliani, 20 Gidley, 21 Blundell, 22 Marques, 23 Barron, Garcia Jr, 25 Nakano

4- Tagliani and Carpentier collide at turn 8. Carpentier into the barrier but Tagliani unscathed. Blundell then hits the rear of Carpentier and the yellows come out. Both drivers forced to retire

5- Tagliani pits under the yellow for checks and regular service. Carpentier gesticulates at his team-mate as he drives past the scene of the accident

7- Gidley, Barron and Brack all pit for fuel under yellow. They may be hoping for a lot of yellows to allow them to stop just once.

9- Brack stops on course during the yellow. He appeared to have stalled the car as the field backed up out of the final corner. He resumes last after a tow-start from the safety crew.

11- Restart. Franchitti stays ahead. Servia barges past Moreno for 11th at turn 1 as Montoya again works on Castroneves for 4th

12- Jourdain Jr crashes into the back of Kanaan at turn 1, breaking his left front suspension. Full course yellow comes out again. The incident was triggered by Servia, who spun at turn 12 and rejoined right ahead of Kanaan, who then tried to pass Servia on the outside

13- Fernandez reporting that his engine is cutting when he tries to run full rich on the fuel mixture

13- Nakano pits yet again, as do Fernandez and Brack

15- Restart. Franchitti stays ahead as Montoya's outside line move on Castroneves into turn 6

15- Moreno also having minor electrical problems, his engine stuttering at low revs

15- Marques collides with Gugelmin at turn 6, both out of the race and in the run-off. Tagliani caused the accident by locking up and sliding into Marques while fighting for 17th

16- Kanaan pits and looks set to retire

16- Tagliani into the tyres at turn 1, another full course yellow. His car looks okay and he is calling for a push start.

17- Tagliani rejoins the race in last position under yellow.

18- Order: 1 Franchitti, 2 Tracy, 3 de Ferran, 4 Castroneves, 5 Montoya, 6 da Matta, 7 Fittipaldi, 8 Andretti, 9 Papis, 10 Vasser, 11 Moreno, 12 Servia, 13 Gidley, 14 Fernandez, 15 Barron, 16 Brack, 17 Garcia Jr, 18 Nakano, 19 Tagliani, 20 Kanaan

20- Restart, Kanaan rejoins the race after suspension repairs. Franchitti pulls out an immediate lead as Montoya works on Castroneves frantically.

21- Franchitti leads by 1.2s from Tracy.

23- Franchitti extends advantage to 2.0s.

25- Dario now 3.3s ahead of Tracy and 6.6s ahead of de Ferran, who has Castroneves, Montoya, da Matta and Fittipaldi close behind. Andretti in 8th leads Papis, Vasser, Moreno, Servia, Gidley and Fernandez in close company.

30- Franchitti 5.2s clear of Tracy

32- Franchitti laps Garcia Jr

33- Montoya continues to provide some vague entertainment by working on Castroneves for 4th

34- Montoya noses slightly ahead on the outside of turn 6 after getting through the fast turn 5 much faster.

36- Fernandez passes Gidley for 13th, making him the highest-placed driver to have already pitted once

37- Franchitti stretches lead to 6s as he laps Nakano. The first non-KOOL Green car is de Ferran in third, but he is 20s off the lead and lapping a second slower than the Green Reynards.

37- Franchitti tags the back of Barron as he laps him at the chicane but there is no damage

39- Servia pits for regular service

40- Barron also delays Tracy as Franchitti pits for his first service. Rejoins after 13s stop. Castroneves also in, as is Papis

41- Tracy pits, so does Fittipaldi

42- de Ferran and Montoya in after running 1-2 briefly. Montoya gets out first.

43- Franchitti back into the lead ahead of Tracy, Gidley and Fernandez

44- Castroneves crashes out at turn six after his front right suspension broke under braking.

45- de Ferran penalised for a blend line violation

46- Gidley pits from 3rd, Montoya now 4th and lapping faster than anyone else.

47- Order: 1 Franchitti, 2 Tracy, 3 Fernandez, 4 Montoya, 5 da Matta, 6 Fittipaldi, 7 Brack, 8 de Ferran, 9 Gidley, 10 Andretti, 11 Vasser, 12 Moreno, 13 Papis, 14 Nakano, 15 Servia, 16 Tagliani, 17 Barron, 18 Garcia Jr

49- Main battle is for third as Montoya works hard on Fernandez.

50- Franchitti leads by 5.3s over Tracy and 11s over the Fernandez-Montoya battle.

51- Franchitti laps 12th-placed Moreno.

51- Nakano hits wall heavily in turn 7, yellow expected. Fernandez pits immediately, as do Fittipaldi, de Ferran and Brack.

52- Whole field pits, Franchitti stalls and drops behind Tracy.

54- Montoya did not pit, neither did da Matta. They are now 3rd and 4th.

56- Order: 1 Tracy, 2 Franchitti, 3 Montoya, 4 da Matta, 5 Fernandez, 6 Fittipaldi, 7 Gidley, 8 Andretti, 9 de Ferran, 10 Brack, 11 Papis, 12 Vasser, 13 Moreno 14 Servia, 15 Barron, 16 Tagliani, 17 Garcia Jr, 18 Kanaan. Everyone has stopped twice except Montoya, da Matta, Andretti and Papis.

57- Tagliani stops on course, he spun trying to warm-up his tyres. He gets another push start.

58- Tagliani crashes into the tyres trying to catch up the field.

59- Green cars have the lapped Moreno & Servia between themselves and third-placed Montoya.

60- Restart, Gidley gets alongside Fittipaldi for sixth, Andretti locks up trying to hold off de Ferran for 8th at turn 6 and drops to 12th as Vasser passes Papis for 10th in the confusion

61- Tracy leads by 0.9s as Moreno and Servia stay with Franchitti despite being a lap down.

62- Montoya gets around Servia and closes on Moreno. Franchitti right behind Tracy again after initially dropping away.

63- Montoya laps Moreno and heads off after the leaders, then briefly slows with an apparent mechanical problem. Moreno repasses for a whole corner before Montoya puts him back in his place.

64- Montoya is 4.2s behind the Green cars.

65- Montoya reels in the leaders, setting the fastest lap of the race in the process.

67- Leaders lapping Barron and Tagliani, top three now together.

68- Montoya slows to a halt and stops on course, yet another mechanical retirement.

69- Full course yellow to recover Montoya. Gidley, Papis make their last stop.

69- Tagliani retires.

72- Restart, Green cars very close but Tracy stays ahead. Da Matta now third but still behind the lapped Moreno and Servia.

72- Franchitti looks at Tracy into turn 5 but stays behind.

74- Brack drops from 7th to 11th after contact with Vasser.

75- Order: 1 Tracy, 2 Franchitti, da Matta, 4 Fernandez, 5 Fittipaldi, 6 de Ferran, 7 Vasser, 8 Gidley, 9 Andretti, 10 Papis, 11 Brack, 12 Moreno, 13 Servia, 14 Barron, 15 Garcia Jr, 16 Kanaan

76- Green cars just 0.6s apart and 5s ahead of da Matta in 3rd, the latter has still only stopped once.

77- Gidley slows and retires with a mechanical problem. He is in the pits and out after running 8th.

79- Team Green has given a 'hold position' order to Tracy and Franchitti, but Dario still looks keen to pass.

86- da Matta pits for a splash-and-go. He drops to 7th.

89- Tracy starts the final lap

90- Tracy wins in a Team KOOL Green 1-2. Fernandez just hangs on for 3rd ahead of Fittipaldi and de Ferran. Andretti stops on course but will take 12th.
