Kerr confident of maiden win

Kerr helped secure the squad the bronze medal in the inaugural season, with Britian not one of the eight nations that recorded a victory.

The team were then managed by GP2 squad Arden International, however team boss John Surtees has dropped them for season two in favour of setting up a squad purely for the purpose of running A1 Team GB.

"We are all going to be working our damndest to make up for the little errors of last year," Kerr told autosport.com.

"The biggest disappointment of the year was not winning because we came so close on so many occasions.

"For example, Brands Hatch we retired when leading and in Indonesia we were leading and then we had a mistake about when to call the pitstop. We were on for a podium or a win in Durban when the wheel gun was trapped under the car.

"Everybody had a good to look at the reason why they happened and what we can do to prevent them in the future. Problems occur within anything and we have taken steps to make sure they don't happen again. But we never had the same problem twice.

"We're putting all that behind us and focusing on what we are good at.

"I'm confident in myself that we can do the job this year and I'm confident in myself and in the team John Surtees has put around us to do the job as well.

"They've all been in Formula One, they know how to do the job and I believe it will be a good season for Great Britain."

Kerr will be joined by former IRL and Champ Car racer Darren Manning and BRDC award winner Oliver Jarvis in the team this season.
