Junqueira Out for Six Months
Bruno Junqueira will be out for six months, according to the doctor who operated on the Brazilian's Indy 500 injuries
The Champ Car series leader fractured two vertebras in a crash on lap 76 of the 200 lap race, and was in surgery for four hours last Monday evening.
"He's doing nicely but it's going to be six months before he can drive again," said Dr Terry Trammell. "His injury is similar to Jason Priestly and Tom Wood, who were both injured in Infiniti Pro Series races."
Newman-Haas is expected to announce later today their plans for Junqueira's replacement for this weekend's Milwaukee race.
