Hanley to rejoin Olympiacos
Ben Hanley will rejoin the Olympiacos team in Superleague Formula at Ordos in China this weekend, and is set to complete the year with the squad
The injured Chris van der Drift had occupied the Olympiacos seat until his massive crash at Brands Hatch at the start of August, and took four race wins in the early part of the year.
Van der Drift had hoped he would be fit enough to race again by the Superleague finale at Navarra on 24 October at the latest, but a statement from the team said that Hanley was "expected to retain his seat for the remainder of the season."
Hanley previously stood in for van der Drift at Adria, where he finished third in both his debut race and the super final. Former Champ Car racer and A1GP champion Neel Jani then took over the car for Portimao and won race two.
Olympiacos still has an outside shot at the Superleague title, holding fifth in the standings - 48 points behind leader Anderlecht - with three events remaining.
