Grapevine: Rankings: Huff moves up again

Huff's weekend of domination at Monza, where he recorded two wins from pole position in his works Chevrolet Cruze, promotes him six places in the Rankings to 54th. He moves ahead of DTM ace Timo Scheider, NASCAR man David Reutimann, Formula 1 racer Jaime Alguersuari, IndyCar poster girl Danica Patrick and Grand-Am top dogs Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas, who suffered a rare defeat this weekend at Virginia International Raceway.

Following Huff home in both races, a little too closely on occasion, was two-time WTCC champion Yvan Muller, and the Frenchman takes a leap up eight places in the Castrol EDGE Rankings to 68th.

Gabriele Tarquini travelled the short distance to Monza just four places Muller in the Rankings, but a tough weekend for the SEAT star ended with him down 10 to 90th.

Rockenfeller was the hero at Zandvoort to take his first DTM victory. The Audi racer therefore moves up six places to the number 38 spot in the Castrol EDGE Rankings, jumping ahead of a trio of Formula 1 racers. Not far behind him in the Zandvoort race and the Rankings is Bruno Spengler - second place for the Mercedes man at the Dutch circuit promotes him four places to 43rd.

On the Tour de Corse, a maiden Intercontinental Rally Challenge victory for Thierry Neuville has vaulted the young Belgian talent a staggering 113 places into the top 200 of the Castrol EDGE Rankings, the Peugeot man now lying in 162nd position.

A rather older Belgian, Freddy Loix, was third and he takes a big stride up to 100th position. He's now just behind fellow Skoda pilot Jan Kopecky (96), who beat Loix to second on Corsica, but loses his second-place points from last year's Argentinian round under the Rankings' 12-month rollover system. Neuville and Loix did not venture to South America in 2010, so had no points to discard. Losing even more points from last year's Argentinian event is rally winner Juho Hanninen, who didn't compete on Corsica and therefore plummets from 34th to 45th.

Among the NASCAR Sprint Cup brigade, Matt Kenseth's win at Dover lifts him four places to 28th, while a fourth for Kyle Busch promotes him above F1 star Felipe Massa to 12th.

Busch's result also moves him up to fourth in the EDGE Race for 2011, just behind Carl Edwards, who was seventh in the Sprint Cup race and won the Nationwide Series round on Saturday. F1 points leader Sebastian Vettel still tops the table.
