Goeters to Drive Third PKV Car

Mexican touring car driver Jorge Goeters will drive PKV Racing's third car at this weekend's second round of the Champ Car World Series at Monterrey in Mexico

Goeters, who takes the drive after the team's talks with Michel Jourdain Jr collapsed, is currently leading Mexico's premier touring car series - and made a name for himself when he took pole position for the NASCAR Busch Race in Mexico City in March.

"This is an opportunity I have dreamed about for a long time," said Goeters, who scored one pole position in his single full Indy Lights season back in 1998. "It will take me a little time to get used to the car, but I am confident that with the help of Russell Cameron and all the guys at PKV Racing I can get up to speed quickly."

Team boss Kevin Kalkhoven added: "Jorge has a tremendous amount of experience in open wheel cars and has shown throughout his career that he is very competitive.

"We are excited about having a driver of Jorge's calibre in one of our cars and especially pleased that Champ Car fans in Mexico will have another driver to cheer for at this weekend's race in Monterrey."
