Glock Slams Wilson

Timo Glock accused Justin Wilson of 'stupid' driving, after the two former Formula One drivers had their second collision in as many days in Sunday's Grand Prix of Edmonton

Their latest skirmish was a virtual carbon copy of the incident that sent Glock into the Turn Seven barriers during final qualifying.

Wilson was fighting back from an embarrassing blunder under a full-course yellow - when he had spun while warming up the tyres of his RuSPORT Lola - and was urgently seeking a way past Glock's Rocketsports car.

The German ran wide going into Turn Five, presenting Wilson with an opportunity to pass into the braking area for the tight Turn Seven. As was the case on Friday, Glock refused to yield the line while Wilson believed the corner was his. Once again, Glock came off worse, ending his day in the tyre wall with broken suspension while Wilson was able to continue unscathed.

It was a crushing disappointment for the rookie, who was lying fourth at the time and was on course for his best finish to date after a morale-boosting showing for the beleaguered Rocketsports team.

"We were having a good run until I made a small mistake in Turn 11 when I touched the wall, which messed up the toe (lateral tilt of the wheels) on the car," related Glock. "This became a bit of a problem for me, as I went a bit wide in Turn Five. Then (Justin) Wilson's right front tyre touched my left rear, bumping me out of the race.

"I don't know how he could have done all the stupid things he did this weekend, like spinning during a caution and taking me out for the second time.

"It is such a shame - we were looking to have our best finish of the season this afternoon and there is nothing that we could have done to change our fate."

Wilson took issue with Glock's account of the incident. "He made a mistake at the same place as yesterday, I popped up the inside and he turned in on me like I wasn't there," said the Briton.

"Early in the race, Paul [Tracy] and I had a pretty good battle there with no problems. We raced hard but we gave each other room. But Timo doesn't leave any room to race."
