Gianni Morbidelli on top in Superstars practice as Audis dominate at wet Spa

Gianni Morbidelli led the way in the second International Superstars Series practice session at Spa-Francorchamps

While the conditions were better than the first session, the track was still damp throughout the entire 30 minutes, giving the four-wheel-drive Audi RS5s a huge advantage.

Johan Kristoffersson kicked things off with a lap some two seconds faster than his practice one time in the KMS Audi, settling on top with a 2m50.390s best. But this time it was Morbidelli's turn to steal the glory late in the piece, the Audi Sport Italia driver firing to the top with a 2m50.074s, a time that would not be beaten.

Championship leader Tonio Liuzzi was the best of the two-wheel-drive cars in the CAAL Racing Mercedes, albeit a gigantic 3.2s behind Morbidelli. His team-mate Luigi Ferrara was fifth fastest, Romeo Ferraris Mercedes driver Camilo Zurcher splitting the two silver Mercedes.

Thomas Schoffler again struggled for pace compared to his Audi team-mates, finishing the session sixth fastest, just ahead of Thomas Biagi (Dinamic BMW) and Alessandro Garofano (Roma Racing Mercedes).

Mika Salo was ninth fastest in the Swiss Team Maserati, while Stefano Gabellini (Dinamic BMW) locked down 10th for the second time in as many sessions.
