Formula Student awards for India and Greece

The FISITA Award for the team demonstrating 'best endeavour' in the UK's sixth annual Formula Student undergraduate competition went to the University of Delhi, the first entrant in the SAE/IMechE contest from India. The final results confirm the overall victory for the University of Toronto, Canada [Jul 8], and class wins for Delft University from the Netherlands (whose design won the Carroll Smith Memorial Shield), the University of Patras, Greece, and Bath University, UK

Formula Student awards for India and Greece

The Canadian team (the runner-up in 2002) won the endurance and acceleration events outright, and placed second in the sprint event (won by Leeds University, UK) and third in the figure-of-eight event (won by the University of Bath, UK), making it a clear winner of the SAE Dynamic Award.

The Class 1 presentation event ended in a three-way tie between the University of Applied Sciences Stralsund, Germany, Delft University and Bath University. The Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany won this award in Class 2, while Class 3 was won by the University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria. Oxford Brookes University, UK, won the cost event.

In the overall standings, Toronto beat Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA, into second place. Helsinki Polytechnic, Finland, was the highest European finisher in third place, while Oxford Brookes was the best UK finisher in fifth.
