Ferrari stage Fantasy fight back

Fantasy team managers that invested heavily in Ferrari machinery or personnel have had little to celebrate so far this season, but a great performance by the Italian marque put the team back on the road to fantasy success

Under trying personal circumstances Michael Schumacher stamped his authority on the field to claim pole position and his first win of the season, along with a mighty haul of 207 fantasy points. Rubens Barrichello battled his way to third, to further enhance the team's dominance in front of its loving tifosi.

While all the headlines concentrated on Michael, spare a thought for the younger of the Schumacher brothers. Ralf did an admirable job to finish fourth despite a series of dramas for the Williams team, and scooped 106 points for Fantasy managers who had invested in him.

Although he appeared to struggle in qualifying, Kimi Raikkonen used a clever two-stop strategy from his McLaren team to fight his way to second by the end of the race. The Finn's inspired showing secured his position atop the world drivers' championship and the Fantasy GP drivers' table, where he enjoys a 40-point margin over Schumacher.

The top four teams all brought all of their cars home at Imola, but Jarno Trulli was lapped en route, costing his Renault team a share of the Fantasy chassis table points lead. McLaren top the table by 83 points from Ferrari, despite the Italian team raking in 118 points at Imola.

Once again Bridgestone swept the tyre points, thanks to Schumacher claiming pole and the fastest race lap.
