Ferrari sets 575 GTC at ?700,000

The price to customer teams of the new Ferrari 575 GTC racecar, developed by N-Technology in Italy for FIA GT, ALMS GT and Grand Am Cup track racing, has been set by Ferrari at ?700,000 excluding taxes and delivery. The Maranello company has released a technical specification of the new car, which builds on recent successes by independently prepared and operated 550 Maranellos in international GT racing

Ferrari sets 575 GTC at ?700,000

The Ferrari 575 GT Competizione is an evolution of the new 575M Maranello, with an increase in engine swept volume from the 5748cc of the production road car to 5997cc, achieved by a slightly longer stroke. With specific cam timing and a Magneti Marelli engine management system, the power output is given at 600bhp with the FIA regulation 31.8mm air inlet restrictors. With the 'longest' gearing of the optional final drives that are available, the top speed is given as 335kph (208mph).

The front track and rear track have both been increased, while the car's dry weight has been reduced to just over the minimum weight of 1150kg (2530lb) by means of fitting composite body panels to a a tubular spaceframe chassis.

Extensively developed in the wind tunnel at Maranello, the 575 GTC has a flat underbody with a rear diffuser to the FIA/ACO regulations, an adjustable front spoiler, and a split rear wing with a 'Gurney' flap.

The car has all-round double wishbone suspension with highly adjustable damping, with an adjustable anti-roll bar and an 'anti-dive' geometry at the front. The front Brembo brake calipers have six pistons and the rears four.
