DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series finalists revealed
The 12 gamers who will compete for the DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series held at the Autosport International Show have been confirmed following the live-streamed quarter and semi-finals
Separate rally and rallycross series are running on Codemasters' popular rally simulator DiRT Rally 2.0, which was released in February this year.
Nine weeks of qualification events across the three major platforms - Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 - decided the participants for the quarter-finals.
Defending DiRT Esports champion Joona Pankkonen headlined the entry list alongside both experienced and rookie gamers.
They'd qualified from 36,000 individual entries.
Pankkonen qualified for both the rallycross and rally quarter-finals.
However, he was eliminated from the rallycross side after only finishing fourth in his semi-final.
Finnish driver Pankkonen was able to qualify for the rally competition, as was the man he beat to the inaugural DiRT title, Robin Jonsson.
Lukas Mateja won Pankkonen's rallycross semi-final to book his place in the showpiece finale at the 2020 Autosport International Show, where he will compete for his share of the $10,000 prize pool.
Mateja and Xbox racer Dave Marshall were the only two drivers to qualify for both the rallycross and rally finals.
That showpiece finale will consist of multiple races and rally stages on a live stage at ASI 2020 to decide the champion of each discipline.
