Dakar: Kleinschmidt takes stage four
Jutta Kleinschmidt stole the show on stage four of the Dakar Rally to beat her male rivals
After more than 286km and 140 minutes of racing the German driver beat favourite Jean-Louis Schlesser by just six seconds.
Speaking after today's stage she said, 'It is obviously a pleasure to win a special, even by so little.
'My target is to pick up one place overall per day. If I manager to do that every day until the end I'll be well placed.
'That said, for me, the two Schlesser buggies and Peterhansel's Mega have to be the favourites. The Mitsus might be better over certain types of going but overall those three seem to have the edge.'
Shinozuka continues to lead the overall rally, despite finishing eighth on stage four.
Jean-Louis Schlesser - second on stage four - is presently third overall, behind Jean-Pierre Fontenay.
