Cocker crowned
The GruppeM Racing Porsche driver, who turned 18 last Tuesday, has scored five wins this season. Cocker said: "It's brilliant. This year was a case of coming in and doing my best. I knew I had a good car, so it's mission accomplished really
"Next year I'd like to do something in Europe or America, but as always it's down to money and sponsors. I love GT cars and I wouldn't want to drive anything else next year."
GruppeM now heads to the Brands Hatch finale aiming to secure the teams title and second place in the points for Tim Sugden, Cocker's regular team-mate.
Team boss Kenny Chen, whose outfit is set to move up from the British series next season, praised his young charge: "He's great. For his age and in his second season of racing he's done a fantastic job - you can't ask for more."
Scuderia Ecosse driver Andrew Kirkaldy, who with team-mate Nathan Kinch was Cocker's chief title rival, also saluted the new champion.
He said: "He's a young lad, but he coped really well with the pressure and has done a really good job."
