Burt targets more Supercup glory
Former British Formula 3 champion Kelvin Burt has set his sights on victory in this weekend's Porsche Supercup round at Silverstone
The 33-year-old, who won the corresponding event in 1994, repeat the feat in the VIP car, despite tough opposition from the likes of Marco Werner, Stephane Ortelli and Sascha Maassen.
"In terms of winning, I don't see why I can't," said Burt. "I'm glad to be in there. It's a high profile series."
Burt is racing for Porsche Great Britain in the domestic GT championship in its 911 GT3-RS, where he shares the car with Marino Franchitti.
"The Supercup car is very similar to our Porsche," added Burt. "It has slightly less brakes and a softer chassis, but I have a good chance. It can't hurt my career and I just want to win. I would like to forge a stronger relationship with Porsche."
Burt's weekend didn't get off to a flying start, however, as he was only 15th quickest in Friday's free practice session which kicked off the British GP meeting. Jorg Bergmeister headed the times, ahead of Team Farnbacher team mate Werner and Ortelli.
