British Club Driver: Mike Jordan

British GT champion Mike Jordan has scooped the prize for the top Club Driver at the AUTOSPORT Awards

The 2000 GTO-class champion moved up to the premier GT class this season, landing a drive at the mighty Lister team alongside David Warnock. The pair fought off a stiff challenge from the Hayles Racing Chrysler Viper to come out on top, winning the title with a round to go.

Aside from his racing duties, Jordan is also boss of Team Eurotech, running two cars in the GTO class and two Porsche Cup cars, including the title-winning GT3 Cup car of Peter Chambers.

The award was presented by two previous Club Drivers of the Year, Toyota's F1 star Allan McNish and CART superstar Dario Franchitti, but Jordan took the applause this time round.

"When I saw these two (up on stage) in their kilts I thought Marino (Franchitti's little brother) would get it," joked Jordan. "But I'd like to thank David Warnock, my team mate, for the solid steady job he's done this year."
