Brazil Fastest in Second Practice
Brazil was fastest in the second A1 GP free practice session at Brands Hatch, but the session was again marred by red flags
Nelson Piquet Jr lapped the wet Brands Hatch track in 1:25.122, however his session was curtailed when he car overheated in the pits and had to be put out by fire extinguishers.
Robbie Kerr finished second in the British entry ahead of Alvaro Parente's Portuguese car. Formula Renault UK racer Stephen Simpson impressed with the fourth fastest time in the South African car.
The USA car, driven by GP2 racer Scott Speed, was only eighth quickest after topping the first session.
Only 42 of the scheduled 60 minutes were run after the red flags were thrown five times.
Japan's Ryo Fukuda and Czech Republic's Jan Charouz caused the first red flag, with each going off into the gravel at Druids Hairpin within seconds of each other.
The Russian car of Nikolay Fomenko caused another red flag to recover his spun car, before he went off again into the tyres at Stirlings.
When Adrian Sutil, driving the German car, went off into the gravel just inches away from Fomenko's stricken car the session was stopped again.
The other Chinese car caused a red flag for the second consecutive session, this time in the hands of Qinghua Ma's teammate Tengyi Jiang .
The session was finally halted and not restarted when Australia's Christian Jones hit the wall on the outside of the Druid's hairpin.Pos Team Time Laps
