Brabham, Pagenaud to race in USC enduros with Extreme Speed Motorsports
Former American Le Mans Series co-champions David Brabham and Simon Pagenaud will drive for the Extreme Speed Motorsports squad in United SportsCar Championship enduros next season
The pair are renewing their relationship with ESM co-owner Ed Brown, whose Tequila Patron drinks company sponsored Highcroft Racing in their championship year together in the ALMS in 2010.
Brabham is returning to the team with which he contested the ALMS long-distance races in 2013 to drive one of ESM's HPD ARX-03b LMP2s alongside team regulars Scott Sharp and Ryan Dalziel at the Daytona 24 Hours, the Sebring 12 Hours and Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.
IndyCar driver Pagenaud, who contested two races with the Level 5 HPD team in last year's ALMS, will take in the same three races that make up three-quarters of the North American Endurance Championship series together with Brown and Johannes van Overbeek.
Pagenaud said: "I'm ecstatic to be joining ESM and Tequila Patron for
the 2014 season alongside my IndyCar programme [with the Schmidt Peterson Hamilton squad]. ESM has proven to be a winning team in both the GT and prototype classes."
Anthony Lazzaro, who contested five ALMS races with ESM in 2013, will share with Brown and Van Overbeek at the Watkins Glen 6 Hours, which clashes with the Houston IndyCar round.
