Bleekemolen, Baguette join RoC
Porsche sportscar star Jeroen Bleekemolen and IndyCar driver Bertrand Baguette will join the Race of Champions in Dusseldorf on 27-28 November after winning fan votes to choose the drivers who will represent the Benelux region
Bleekemolen, a double Porsche Supercup champion who also won the new GTC class in the American Le Mans Series this year, beat World Touring Car frontrunner Tom Coronel and former IndyCar and Formula 1 driver Robert Doornbos to win the Dutch vote.
"I'm really looking forward to being able to represent my country in the Race of Champions," said Bleekemolen.
"It's an honour to race against such big names of this sport. And of course I want to do really well, especially for all the fans that voted for me."
Baguette was up against ex-World Rally driver Francois Duval and former F1 man Eric van de Poele in the Belgian poll.
"This is great news and I'm delighted that so many people voted for me to appear at ROC 2010," said Baguette.
"It will be a real buzz to line up against these legends of motorsport and Jeroen and I will push like crazy to bring home a result for Team Benelux."
Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Loeb are among the other drivers committed to this year's RoC in its new German home.
