Bahrain backs Autosport award
Bahrain International Circuit is to sponsor a new Autosport Award designed to recognise the company or person that has developed the most innovative product or service in motorsport
Design, engineering and technical breakthroughs as well as safety developments will be included in the wide area covered by the award.
Bahrain chairman Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa commented: "We are enormously proud to have developed a new award with Autosport to honour those with the greatest pioneering spirit to bring innovations into the sport.
"In bringing Formula 1 to the Middle East for the first time, we would like to think that at Bahrain International Circuit we are also pioneers for the sport and the region.
"We have a facility that is at the leading edge of circuit technology and is designed not just for F1 but to be a home for motorsport in the Middle East. Therefore, we are pleased to be able to have developed an award that recognises those that share the pioneering spirit of Bahrain International Circuit and the Kingdom of Bahrain."
