Andy Priaulx's BMW withdrawn from Daytona 24 Hours after crash
Andy Priaulx could miss the Daytona 24 Hours after crashing heavily during practice for the race on Friday
The DTM driver was due to make his Daytona debut this weekend the Turner Motorsport, driving one of the team's two BMW M3s in the GT class.
The car had qualified 18th in the category on Thursday.
But a heavy accident during practice at Turn 4, which Priaulx said was caused by a braking problem, forced his #93 car to be withdrawn due to the amount of damage caused.
Three-time World Touring Car champion Priaulx was taken to the medical centre for examination, but was later released without injury.
There remains the possibility that Priaulx may still race, despite his car being withdrawn.
The team said on its Twitter feed that the 39-year-old Briton and his co-drivers Maxime Martin, Gunter Schaldach and Michael Marsal could all feature in the sister M3, set to be raced by Bill Auberlen, Paul Dalla Lana, Billy Johnson and Boris Said, instead.
