The Swiss driver's 1m47.676s lap was enough to keep him clear of a late improvement by teenage sensation Matheo Tuscher, who took second, 0.163 seconds down.
Early-session pacesetters Markus Pommer and points leader Luciano Bacheta were pushed back to third and fourth by the end, as Kevin Mirocha and Parthiva Sureshwaren filled the top six.
Series newcomer Axcil Jefferies was 15th quickest on his debut.
