Alessandro Balzan and Bjorn Grossman locked out the front row for both of the Ferrari Challenge races at the Hungaroring

The Ferrari Moscow team-mates dominated both qualifying sessions, with Balzan backing up his double win from the last round at Mugello with two pole positions in Budapest. The second of the pole position efforts was particularly impressive, Balzan jumping from nowhere to the top with a stunning lap halfway through the session, forcing Grossman to settle for another second place.

Ferrari Ukraine's Andrii Kruglyk secured two second row starts, with third in Q1 and fourth in Q2. He will be joined on the second row by Ferrari Moscow drivers Alexandr Skryabin (fourth for race one) and Sefano Gai (third for race two).

Motor Piacenza's Niki Cadei had a tough day, the early season pacesetter managing just two sixth places. He had been right up the front in the second session, before steadily dropping down the field in the last 10 minutes, Patrick Gobbo (Rossocorsa Pellin) eventually dumping him out of the top five.

In the Coppa Shell class, Daniele di Amato (CDP) took pole for race one, before Alexey Basov (Ferrari Moscow) took pole for race two.
