Alessandro Balzan dominates Hungaroring Ferrari Challenge race one and takes points lead

Starting from pole position, the Ferrari Moscow driver was in a different race to the rest of the field, ultimately winning by a whopping 14 seconds.

Balzan's team-mate Bjorn Grossman finished a lonely second, but it was not enough to prevent the German from losing a championship lead he has held since the first round at Monza, Balzan taking over at the top by three points.

Stefano Gai made it an all Ferrari Moscow podium with third place, having jumped from fifth on the grid on the run into the first corner.

Behind the top three there was a spirited dice for fourth, Alexandr Skryabin (Ferrari Moscow) and Niki Cadei (Motor Piacenza) staging a race-long battle. Skryabin managed to hold on to claim fourth.

Andrii Kruglyk (Ferrari Ukrania) threw away any chance of a good result by running wide at the first corner of the race. The Ukranian driver had essentially matched Grossman for pace in qualifying, but made poor use of his third place grid position by dropping all the way back to seventh on the first lap. Once back in the pack, he struggled to match the pace of the frontrunners, eventually finishing sixth ahead of Patrick Gobbo (Rossocorsa Pellin).

Max Blancardi (Motor Malucelli), Alxeander Martin (Stratstone Ferrari) and Daniel Zelinsky (Ferrari Praha) rounded out the top 10.

Meanwhile, Alexey Basov (Ferrari Moscow) won the Coppa Shell class from Raffaele Giannoni (Motor Piacenza) and Dirk Adamski (Autohaus Saggio).
