Zuber claims maiden win

Andy Zuber claimed his first ever GP2 win in the sprint event in Turkey today

The Trident driver made the best start from second on the grid to lead into the first corner, and he stayed there until the chequered flag.

Xandi Negrao held second initially, but he dropped out, handing the place to Adam Carroll.

Carroll closed the gap to less than half a second, but Zuber held on for a memorable win. On the final lap, Carroll conceded second to an inspired Lewis Hamilton.

A second lap spin dropped the Briton to 16th. A charging fightback saw him race wheel-to-wheel with Nelson Piquet Jr, but the Brazilian had flat spotted his tyres and could not respond to the Hamilton charge.

The ART star also bagged fastest lap, and with Piquet back in fifth, Hamilton's championship lead is back up to 10 points.

Timo Glock had a great dice with Hamilton and Piquet and came home fourth, while Nicolas Lapierre made a fantastic start and fought his way into the top six to earn Arden International their first points since the Monaco round in May.
