Technical Problems May Take Time
GP2 may not have all of its technical and mechanical issues resolved until the fourth round of the series at the Nurburgring on May 28, according to this week's Autosport magazine
The high profile Formula One support series suffered a number of technical problems both on and off track throughout its debut weekend, with organisers forced to start both races behind the safety car because of concern over some drivers not being able to get used to the clutches.
Teams also complained that the original brakes supplied by Carbone Lorraine suffered irregular wear, prompting a switch to Brembo before the meeting's second race. Series organisers are hoping to resolve the problem at next week's test session at the Paul Ricard circuit.
The championship's head of engineering Bernard Dudot told Autosport: "These are complex problems and we need time to fix them - we need two more races before we have everything right.
"For sure the level of the car is not good enough at the moment."
