Q & A with Scott Speed

Q. Fastest this morning and on the front row for tomorrow - are you happy with your work today?

Scott Speed: Sure - we've got a solid position for the race, and obviously we're quite quick around here, so we stand a good chance.

Q. Your form has been really good here - it seems to be a track that you enjoy.

Speed: Yeah, and I think we're just quick here like we were in Silverstone and the other races.

Q. The top three are split by a second and then there's everyone else - you were well ahead of almost everyone.

Speed: We've been really fast here in the morning, so I kind of expected to have a bit of a leg up on everyone. In qualifying Rosberg was obviously a big surprise for everyone.

Q. You popped up at the top of the timesheets halfway through the session - did you think it was going to be good enough for pole?

Speed: I didn't know how much of his time he got on his first set of tyres - me, I didn't get anything because Kovalainen went off right in front of me on my fast lap.

Q. So potentially you could have gone even faster.

Speed: At the very beginning, yeah. Obviously we could have been right there were Rosberg was on his first set of tyres, and then with the second set we did everything perfect.

Q. Everyone ran straight out to get a banker lap in because of the potential for rain - how bad was the traffic situation?

Speed: Well, Kovalainen caught me out.

Q. Sure, but were there any other problems?

Speed: No.

Q. So a front row start tomorrow sets you up nicely for the race tomorrow.

Speed: We've been getting great starts lately, so obviously if I can get into P1 at turn one tomorrow, then we can walk. It's going to be close though, realistically - he's quite quick, so hopefully we're just there in turn one.

Q. With the rain starting now, there's potential for a wet race...

Speed: I don't think so.

Q. Have you done much wet racing?

Speed: Yeah - last year and the year before, but it's been almost a year now.

Q. And how was your form in the wet?

Speed: Quite good - I don't mind if it rains.
