Q & A with Nelson Piquet Jr

Q: Another podium after a strong race - how does it feel?

Nelson Piquet Jr: Yeah, I feel really good. It was a lucky race for me also - Premat crashed, and Pantano cut the chicane and got disqualified - so I think it was kind of one or two positions there that I would have lost. But we're getting there, and the car felt good and was consistent.

Q: You seemed to be under a bit of pressure from Pantano in the second half of the race - do you think he would have taken you if he didn't have the drive through?

Piquet: It's difficult to say - we were under pressure and there were maybe a few mistakes, and then he made a mistake and got the penalty. I was 1.37 lows and he was doing 1.36 highs, so he was catching me at maybe four tenths a lap - it would have been close, and maybe he would have caught me, but it's difficult to say if he would have got past.

Q: Just taking it back for a minute - how was your start?

Piquet: It was very good - I went to fourth, and then I was lucky because Premat overtook me when I lost braking and had to let him through, and then they [Premat and Rosberg] were crazy and they crashed together, and that was it and I continued my race by my self - the team made a really good pitstop, and everything worked well.

Q: It did seem like quite a lonely race for you - did that pose any problems for you?

Nelson: No - it was good to concentrate, and it's possible when there's nobody ahead of behind you just have to keep the pace and keep your concentration, which can be quite difficult. That's what I did - I continued doing good lap times, similar to the leaders, and that's all.

Q: How important is it for the team to bring home another podium here?

Piquet: It's great - we're not Italians, but it would be great to get a podium all the time. It's our fourth podium, and we hope to bring a few more before the end of the year.

Q: What are your hopes for tomorrow?

Piquet: Tomorrow we're starting sixth, so I'll try to do my best at the start again and gain a few position, and then let's see - it's certainly not going to be easy.
