Q & A with Adam Carroll

Q: You seemed to have the easiest race of everyone today - how was it for you?

Adam Carroll: "It was very good - the car was just really, really good, and I could do whatever I wanted with it. I had the grip, I was able to push and to just really go, and we could make a really big gap, which was really good."

Q: How were the conditions for you today?

Carroll: "When it rained it started to get really heavy, and there was some standing water at the top of Eau Rouge - I came through that and it was a little bit squirrelly - it was no big deal or anything, but you could feel that the standing water was getting much heavier.

"That was the only thing that was a problem - the grip was basically the same, and you just had to be careful of standing water, because sometimes you don't know that it's there until you hit it! But there's not much you can do about - you just have to keep pushing hard."

Q: So was today just a case of setting a few fastest laps and then sitting back to protect your lead?

Carroll: "No, I kept pushing and kept doing the same laptimes each time - I don't like backing off, and I prefer to just keep pushing and keeping a constant pace. There is no reason to back off really - that's when you run wide or hit the white line or something."

Q: It's been a while since you've been on the top step - how important is it for you to be back?

Carroll: "It's very important - it's just a shame that it was stopped, because obviously I wanted to win under the chequered flag, and win properly. We still have ten laps left, which is quite a lot around here, so it's just a shame that it was red flagged. Obviously no one was hurt, and we won the race, so it's good."

Q: Two races left in Bahrain - what are you looking for there?

Carroll: "To win another race. We've just had a hard time really, and we just want a decent crack at winning a race and having nothing go wrong."

Q: Do you think you can possibly take third in the Championship?

Carroll: "That would be nice - it would be nice to go back to third in the Championship. Obviously it's not going to be so easy to get back up there, because I haven't scored points for seven races, which is a joke - even if we were just pulling a few in it would be much easier. It's going to be tough, I think - Scott's been obviously quick everywhere - but if he has a bad weekend then you never know."
