Pizzonia plays down testing pace
Antonio Pizzonia is not getting too excited about his performance in pre-season testing yesterday at Barcelona
The FMS driver set the fastest time towards the end of the day, and he has often been near the top of the timesheets through the winter.
However, the former Formula One driver feels that laptimes mean very little before the season begins.
"Finishing fastest isn't always the most important thing in testing," said Pizzonia. "But the boys have been working very hard over the winter so it's a nice boost for the team.
"I am still getting used to the car but I am happy with our performance, and I am just looking forward to continuing the programme tomorrow."
Pizzonia feels that it is more important for the team to try things ahead of the new season, and he is happy with the progress they made on day one of the test.
"Obviously the most important thing is that we have tested a lot of things and we are going in the right direction," he said.
"It was a good day, we went through a lot of important stuff that we had to test."
