Lemarie in Superfund shunt
Patrick Lemarie, the former BAR test driver, brought a premature end to his testing of the new Formula Superfund car at Estoril in Portugal - by crashing the car on the main straight

The Frenchman, who has joined a host of high-profile drivers evaluating the new SF01 car, got caught out on a damp patch at the former home of the Portuguese Grand Prix and spun into the barriers on a day of mixed weather conditions.
Speaking after the team decided to abort the test, to ready the car for its next outing, Lemarie said: "Obviously, I'm very disappointed with today's results.
"I went out on dry tyres after Alvaro [Parente] finished his run as the track was drying off, but, on the straight, I hit a wet patch at the braking point and went off into the barriers. I suppose that, at least, this proves the car is very safe."
Lemarie is not the only driver to have caused a setback to the development of new cars this year. A few weeks ago Renault F1 test driver Franck Montagny crashed the new GP2 car during a test at Barcelona after spinning in damp conditions.
