Leinders happy after first test
Bas Leinders claimed he was happy with his first test for new team, Kid Jensen Racing.
The Belgian, who recently joined the F3000 squad, tested alongside Italian team-mate Andrea Piccini at Jerez last week, with Leinders finishing second fastest in the final session.
Following Friday's quick lap of 1.32.534s, Leinders said: "I am very pleased with my first test with the team.
"We are proving to be competitive straight away.
"I like the basic set-up and over the two days we continually improved the car to suit my driving style and we went quicker and quicker. I am very impressed with the professionalism of the team."
Andrea Piccini was eighth quickest in his opening test on Thursday.
He said: "We had a good test and I am working successfully with my new race engineer.
"On Thursday, we had the fastest time for most of the afternoon, on old tyres, which shows we are very competitive in race conditions.
"My best time on Friday afternoon does not reflect our potential because I was held up in traffic with my new set of tyres."
