Imola day 2: Friesacher strikes back

Red Bull Junior Team's Patrick Friesacher hit the top of the Formula 3000 testing times on the second day of running at Imola today (Friday)

The Austrian lapped his Zytek-powered Lola in 1m35.545s, half a second clear of yesterday's pacesetter Bjorn Wirdheim (Arden). Vitantonio Liuzzi was third quickest in the second Red Bull machine.

Ricardo Sperafico was fourth fastest for Coloni, ahead of the impressive Nicolas Minassian with the new Brand Motorsport team. His team-mate, German F3 champion Gary Paffett, was eighth fastest, just behind Champ Car refugee Townsend Bell (Arden).
