Hitech Boss Plays Down Split
Hitech Racing boss David Hayle has said that Hitech Piquet Sports' GP2 squad will continue as normal despite his split from the team, and he will still offer advice in the future

Hitech Piquet Sports announced before last weekend's Turkey race that Hitech Racing and Piquet Sports, who had joined forces at the start of the season to form the GP2 team, had parted ways with immediate effect.
The split came after months of rumours of tension between the two sides of the outfit, who were believed to have differing ideas on the best way to run the team.
"The split is not so dramatic," Hitech boss Hayle said in a statement. "The team will remain unchanged with the staff employed from day one, so it should be business as usual.
"It is an amicable joint decision for the partners to buy my shares and I will still offer advice and assistance to the team on a consultancy basis."
"I have left a team of good people in a strong position and they should continue to have success. The team and the drivers are capable of great things and I wish them well."
Hayle will now concentrate on running his Hitech Racing team in the British Formula Three International Series.
"I decided to sell my shares Sports because I am unable to commit 100 per cent of my time to the team as requested by the partners. I have my F3 team and their business interests to consider and I am not prepared to neglect them in any way."
