GP2 Kicks Off Second Test
The GP2 series began its second test at the Paul Ricard circuit today, with new drivers making their debut.
Mathias Lauda (Coloni), Hiroki Yoshimoto (BCN) and Giorgio Pantano (Super Nova) have joined the drivers from last week's test for the first time.
The teams took the opportunity to experiment with a variety of set ups, with lap times tumbling throughout the day as a result. The drivers shared their cars with their teammates throughout the day; with only one transponder per car the times released have been credited to the teams rather than the drivers.
The test, which is set to run for another three days, is split into four sessions a day. The final session comprised of qualifying style runs, and featured all twelve cars on track simultaneously. All bar one team ran within 1.5 seconds of the fastest driver.
