GP2 Confirms Standing Starts

GP2's Head of Engineering Bernard Dudot has confirmed that a standing start procedure will be used in tomorrow's first race at Barcelona

GP2 Confirms Standing Starts

In the opening rounds at Imola, series organisers made the decision to commence the races with a rolling start due to concerns that a few drivers had not come to terms with the clutch paddle, which created a potentially dangerous start process.

Dudot told Autosport-Atlas: "I think we shouldn't have too many problems. We will have normal starts from now."

With two pitstops in race one at Imola, all of the drivers were able to use the clutch to get away under racing conditions, and a very small change was made to the clutch to help the drivers.

"I think the improvements, the small modifications made should make it not so difficult for the drivers to start properly with the clutch," Dudot added.
