Glock regains lead with sprint win

Less than 24 hours after losing his GP2 Series lead, Timo Glock regained it with a dominant sprint race victory at Istanbul on Sunday - while title rival Lucas di Grassi failed to score points

Glock (iSport) was running third when long-time race leader Karun Chandhok (Durango) was harpooned into a spin at the final turn by Kazuki Nakajima (DAMS). Chandhok was out on the spot, while Nakajima continued - albeit behind Glock.

The German went on to win by almost 10 seconds, as Nakajima was given a drive-through for the collision.

Also handed a drive-through was di Grassi (ART), after he made marginal contact with Giorgio Pantano (Campos) early in the race, causing the Italian to spin. Di Grassi, who had been running sixth, finished out of the points.

Glock now regains the title lead by two points, with 66 to di Grassi's 64 with three rounds remaining.

Xandi Negrao (Minardi/Piquet) finished second, ahead of Adam Carroll (FMS), who battled his way past di Grassi and Borja Garcia (Durango).

Garcia finished fourth, ahead of Vitaly Petrov (Campos) and Bruno Senna (Arden). Senna only nicked the final point of Luca Filippi (Super Nova) in the closing stages.
